Dr. Nancy Kersey, BSc., DMV

Dr. Nancy Kersey, a 1996 graduate of Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine, with a keen interest in preventative medicine, internal medicine, abdominal ultrasound, and small animal dentistry. Dr Kersey’s mission is to deepen the bond between pets and their owners. Originally from Herring Cove, Nova Scotia, she completed her Bachelor's degree at the University of Kentucky before pursuing veterinary studies in Alabama. Dr. Kersey's extensive career includes 14 years at a prestigious multi-doctor practice in Montgomery, Alabama, before returning home in 2010. Outside work, she enjoys hiking with her lively GSP, Pippin.

Dr. Christine Golding, BSc., DMV

Dr. Golding is an accomplished veterinarian, graduating from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2002 after completing degrees in Biology and Occupational Therapy at Dalhousie University (1994). She has spent much of her life working and volunteering in animal shelters. As a result, she knows the importance of a loving, stable relationship between a person and their pet, and works hard to foster this in her clients. This also helps guide her in providing the best care for her patients, from puppy to senior. Dr. Golding enjoys general medicine and has a particular interest in compassionate end-of-life care and knows the need for support and kindness in a difficult time. Her empathy and attentiveness have now led her to open a clinic that prioritizes the same commitment to quality care. She has had numerous well-loved pets over the years and every one of them has made her bond to animals all the stronger! She is currently the proud owner of a rescue pit bull named Odin.

Dr. Amanda Schrage, BSc., DVM

Dr. Amanda Schrage graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2004 and has been a dedicated small animal veterinarian for over 20 years in Halifax and Bedford. She has special interests in internal medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery, she fosters lasting relationships with her clients and patients, guiding them from youth to senior years with compassionate care and preventative education. Dr. Schrage cherishes her bond with her senior patients, ensuring their comfort and vitality as they age. Her passion is to help every animal in her care live their best life. Outside work, Dr. Amanda enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family and her sweet pup, Daisy.

Dr. Susan Brown, BSc., DVM

Dr. Susan Brown, earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Dalhousie University in 1995 and her Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 1999. With a keen interest in ultrasounds, soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and dentistry, she brings over two decades of expertise. Dr. Brown’s lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian began at age 5. She enjoys spending time with her pets—a dog named Georgia, four cats, chickens, and honey bees. Outside of work, she supports her sons in sports, relishes live music, and embraces outdoor activities like gardening and kayaking. Dr Brown’s passion for animal care and fostering a positive work environment drives her commitment to AprilVets.
